Donnie Horvath

I got into the world of cinematography at the age of 13. I started to edit videos of PC games. I have realized that I love to create visuals, so I started making music videos, short films, and I studied TV Production at Budapest Metropolitan University in Hungary. That was a big step for me, because coming from that, I got the chance to work at a leading Hungarian television channel called ATV. I worked there for 2 and a half years. Initially, I was a camera assistant, and later on they let me work as a camera operator. After I felt like I’d like to improve more, I came to the UK, and studied Filmmaking MA at the University of Bradford. Since I have graduated, I’ve been working on corporate films, short films, music videos as a DOP, and I started working in drama as a camera trainee.

Budapest Metropolitan University

I had the chance to gain basic knowledge about the film production & practice camera operating in different film studios. The other thing this University gave me is the opportunity to work at a leading Hungarian television which I’m really grateful for.

Working at ATV

Work teaches you respect. I have no doubt about this after working at ATV. I had to adopt to many new rules as a novice and make my way up to become a camera operator. I made a lots of friends here who I still keep contact with, and we are helping each other to evolve in the area of video production.

University of Bradford & Coming to the UK

My first impression of the UK was that people are really positive, and my new friends always inspire me, while at the University, I could gain skills from some of the best experts in the film industry.
